Who this applies to
This policy applies to everyone using the CompTech public website, contact form and cyber security courses. It works alongside the Terms of Use.
Use the website responsibly
You may browse the site, use the free courses for genuine learning, generate your own completion certificate and contact CompTech about a legitimate enquiry.
You must not use the website to:
- break the law, infringe rights, deceive people or impersonate another person;
- submit abusive, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, fraudulent or knowingly false material;
- send spam, automated form submissions or repeated messages that interfere with normal enquiries;
- upload or submit passwords, access tokens, private keys, malicious code or information you are not authorised to share;
- disrupt, overload, damage or bypass the website, its security controls, rate limits or access restrictions;
- probe, scan, exploit or test this website or connected systems without prior written authorisation from CompTech;
- alter a course certificate or course progress to misrepresent completion or another person's identity;
- copy or extract website content at a rate or scale that harms service availability or breaches the Terms of Use.
Security research
Do not perform security testing without written permission that clearly defines the systems, methods and dates in scope. If you notice a possible vulnerability during normal use, stop testing and report it privately to support@comptechits.co.uk. Do not disclose personal information or a vulnerability publicly before CompTech has had a reasonable opportunity to investigate.
How we respond
CompTech may block requests, limit access, preserve relevant technical evidence or report suspected unlawful activity where reasonably necessary to protect the site, its users or other systems. Serious or repeated misuse may also lead to legal action.
