Education IT Support

Education IT support for schools and MATs across Lancashire.

CompTech supports schools and MATs with day-to-day ICT, cyber security, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Wi-Fi, classroom technology and onsite project work, all from a team that understands how schools operate.

Schools, academies and MATs

Keep the day-to-day moving while improving what sits behind it.

Schools need technology that works in lessons today, while still making progress on security, infrastructure and the projects that can’t be fixed with another support ticket.

Everyday ICT support

A clear route for staff, devices, accounts, classroom technology and the issues that interrupt teaching and administration.

Security and standards

Turn DfE technology standards, cyber risk and recurring issues into a practical improvement plan rather than a growing list of separate actions.

Projects and change

Plan Wi-Fi, cabling, classroom AV, device work, cloud changes and holiday projects around the school calendar.

DfE technology standards

Turn DfE technology standards into a plan you can actually manage.

CompTech helps schools and MATs review their position against the published DfE technology standards, record progress and turn gaps into clear priorities.

That gives leaders a better view of what has improved, what still needs attention and what should be planned next, without pretending a checklist replaces proper governance.

Our CompTech Assurance DfE Standards tool is free for CompTech managed schools and MATs. If your school uses another provider, speak to us about help with the standards, access and support.

  • Track progress and changes against published standards
  • Review alignment and priorities across a school or trust
  • Keep a clear record of improvement over time
  • Create an action plan for missing standards and priority work

Filtering and monitoring needs safeguarding and IT to work together

Filtering and monitoring is part of a school’s wider safeguarding responsibility. Governing bodies and school leaders retain overall responsibility, while the DSL and IT support need to work together so the technical provision reflects the school’s safeguarding needs.

CompTech can support the technical side through configuration, testing, review and evidence, but safeguarding decisions, policies and responses to concerns remain with the school and its designated safeguarding leadership.

We work closely with independent safeguarding consultants, including Ella Savell-Boss, to help connect technical filtering and monitoring with the school’s wider safeguarding approach.

No single filtering or monitoring product replaces the school’s wider safeguarding processes.

Established education delivery

Extra capacity when your school or trust needs it.

Some schools need an outsourced ICT team. Others already have internal IT and need experienced people for projects, sickness cover, holiday work or specialist changes.

CompTech can work either way, adding remote or onsite capacity around the requirement rather than forcing every school into the same support model.

Cloud transition

As more schools and trusts move from on-premises infrastructure to cloud services, CompTech can help with discovery, planning, identity, data, access, backup, recovery, migration, implementation and ongoing support across established Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments.

Flexible technical capacity

Bring in remote hands, onsite project support, or sickness and leave cover when your internal team needs additional capacity. We can help with device rollouts, troubleshooting, classroom technology and planned holiday changes. Agree the work, access and responsibilities with your team so tasks have a clear owner and handover. Availability and scope are confirmed around the requirement.

Procurement and project support

  • Procurement, leased lines and licences
  • AV solutions, WiFi and CCTV
  • Sign-in solutions
  • Paxton door access systems

School connectivity

Connect the Classroom

More than 30 projects delivered across the North West, with practical experience of Wi-Fi and switching upgrades in live school environments.

01 · Review and design

Start with the whole network.

Review coverage, capacity, switching, cabling and power. Plan around the devices in use and the needs of classrooms and shared spaces.

02 · Plan and install

Work around school life.

Agree the design and plan installation around teaching, access arrangements and school holidays, with a clear scope for the technical work.

03 · Check and hand over

Leave a clear support picture.

Check the agreed installation and record the configuration and support responsibilities, so your team knows what has been delivered.

DfE contacts eligible schools directly and determines funding and programme requirements. We can help plan the technical work around your confirmed scope.

Clearer scope

Education pricing starts with how your school actually works.

Schools and MATs vary too much for a meaningful one-size-fits-all price.

We look at sites, users, devices, platforms, onsite requirements, existing internal capacity and planned projects before agreeing the right support model.

Understand your environment

Review sites, staff and pupil devices, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, network infrastructure and recurring issues. Identify the areas that need attention first.

Agree the support model

Set out responsibilities between CompTech and your internal team, remote and onsite needs, holiday work and any specialist cover. Agree availability and scope before work starts.

Make the costs clear

Separate regular support from licences, hardware, third-party services and project work. Plan priorities around your budget, renewal dates and the school calendar.

Start with a School ICT Review to establish the current position and discuss a scoped proposal.

Free cyber security training

Free cyber awareness training for school staff.

A practical course covering phishing, safeguarding data, account security, ransomware and incident reporting, designed to make everyday cyber decisions easier to understand.

Follow links to official NCSC training and practical guidance for your school’s Risk Protection Arrangement (RPA) cyber preparation. Keep the separate NCSC completion evidence where required; the CompTech course certificate does not establish RPA compliance.

Not sure what your school should tackle first?

Start with a School ICT Review.

We’ll look across support, cyber security, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, infrastructure and planned projects, then help you separate the urgent work from what can be planned properly.

For ongoing standards reviews, CompTech Assurance brings annual assessments, termly checks and assigned actions into one workspace for your school or trust. Explore the tool, see platform previews and find the right access option.
